Nicola noticed an advertisement for a job as a bakery assistant in a local bakery. She applied for the position and was invited for interview. Both owners were present at the start of the interview but shortly after the interview began one of the owners got up and left. During the interview she was asked if she ‘intended to become pregnant or get married during the next 12 months?‘ Nicola replied that she ‘had no intention to have children or get married in the near future‘.
Nicola was asked to work for the bakery on a few trail runs over 3 days. After the 3 days she was appointed to work full-time as a bakery assistant. She was informed that it would take her 6 months to get ‘up to speed’.
