Dr Lennon applied for a public appointment post of Chair at NI Water. All public appointments must follow a particular process which is in two stages.
The first stage of a public appointment is selection and recommendation by an interviewing panel. Dr Lennon attended a selection process, was successful, deemed appointable by the interview panel and recommended for the second stage.
The second stage is submission of successful candidates to the relevant Minister for a decision on the public appointment. Dr Lennon and four other candidates, were submitted to the Minister for Regional Development for his decision on the suitable candidate for the public appointment of Chair at NI Water.
